It was a chaotic end to the season in the North East Essex League, as St Clements pipped Hackney to the title.
Hackney, who only needed to beat bottom side Passage to finish as champions, looked on course at the halfway point having bowled out their rivals for just 122.
Amit Gudka top scored for Passage with 34, as Jaypee Sandhu claimed an impressive 5-29.
But Sheldon Greenland tore through the Hackney batting line-up in reply with some firepower as the fast bowler took 6-24, with only opener Johnny Laxton providing any comfort for the home team with 20.
Greenland’s bowling saw Hackney lose their last six wickets for 14 runs as they stumbled to just 80, handing Passage a 42-run victory.
That meant that second-placed St Clements would claim the title if they beat Pacific.
But in a shortened 35-over game, Pacific got off to the best start thanks to a 94-run opening stand between Syed Imran (58) and Dan Humphrey (53).
Pacific eventually settled on 195-7 and nerves began to creep in for St Clements as they slipped from 100-1 to 160-7, after opener Arslan Javid struck an impressive 75 before being trapped leg before by Tobias Jarvis.
Tim Garrett also claimed two wickets in two balls, but despite the best efforts of the Pacific bowlers, St Clements found their way home with three balls top spare, sparkling jubilant celebrations.
