The North East London Cricket League season crept into the final few weeks as September rolled on, beginning with a double header of league games for I Don’t like Cricket.
And they capped off their season with victories over Passage and league leaders London Fields.
A half-century from Liam Ridley helped a battling IDLC to 158-9, before a stunning 99-run last stand between Al Collins, who struck his first 50, alongside Gurj Matharu (16) helped them close on a solid 259-9.
In reply, Passage crumbled, with Ross Legg taking 3-9, as just opening batter Alex Higginbottom provided any resistance with a battling 36.
At Millfields, Stamford Hill were bowled out for 152, with Royal Sovereigns completing their season with success after chasing it down by five wickets.
London Fields succumbed to defeat against I Don’t Like Cricket at sun-drenched Hackney.
Put into bat, IDLC were bowled out for just 156, with Greg Rampersad top scoring with 37 alongside 35 from Kash Sood.
Despite a positive opening, the Fields succumbed to quick wickets, thanks to off-spinner Hyder Cheema, who tore through the middle-order to claim 4-24.
Fields were eventually bowled out for 120 to suffer a bitter blow to their league title chances.
