An e-scooter rider is wanted after ten sexual assaults against lone women took place in the same area over a six-month period.
Police have received ten separate reports of sexual assaults in the Hackney Marshes area between March and August.
It is alleged that the suspect is targeting lone women and touching them over their clothing.
The last reported incident took place on August 7, and police have said that on each occasion the suspect had been riding an e-scooter.
Officers have now released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with their investigation.
Detective Constable Lucy Dunwell, who is based in Hackney, said she recognised the concern this will cause in the local community.
She added: “I understand that many who live, walk and run within this area will be fearful after hearing about these incidents and I assure you that we are working tirelessly to identify the man responsible.”
DC Dunwell said that police were working with Hackney Council to increase patrols in the area, and encouraged people to keep their phone charged, remain aware of their surroundings and call police in an emergency.
She added: “We have issued images of a man that we would like to speak to in relation to this investigation.
“In an emergency always dial 999. Similarly, if you have witnessed or been a victim of sexual assault then please come forward so you can be supported, and the matter can be investigated.”
