A man was caught with a gun and ammunition when he was stopped and searched by police.
Linden Thomas, 24, of Ashenden Road, Hackney, was the subject of a proactive stop and search on April 30.
Thomas was found to be in possession of a firearm – namely a blank firing pistol that had been converted so it fired live ammunition.
He was also carrying ammunition and a knife.
Thomas was arrested and charged before pleading guilty to possession of a firearm, ammunition and a knife.
He also admitted a racially aggravated public order offence relating to his behaviour towards a police officer.
Thomas has now been sentenced to six years in prison, the Met Police Taskforce said.
