Stamford Hill shooting: Claims woman was 'shot from window'

The victim, in her 30s, was found with a gunshot injury to her leg at Reizel Close, Stamford Hill today (May 14) at 7.40pm.

She was taken to an east London hospital, but at the time of publication her condition is not known.

One eyewitness, who wishes to remain anonymous but was at the scene, told the Hackney Gazette that an alleged argument broke out near the Morrisons.

It is claimed that the victim was then “shot out the window” of a car and that a vehicle drove off.

Another local who lives next to the crime scene told the Gazette that "two gunshots were heard".

However, these claims are not confirmed at this time by the Metropolitan Police, as the force is yet to issue out further details on the crime.

Emergency services, including firearm officers and a London Air Ambulance, were called to the area.

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: “We treated a patient at the scene before taking them to a major trauma centre as a priority.”

Stamford Hill is closed off between Clapton Common and Manor Road.

No arrests have been made at this time and a crime scene remains in the area.
