Police are investigating after a man was found with stab injuries near a station in the early hours of this morning.
The Metropolitan Police were called at 1.37am today (April 3) to reports of an injured man close to Hoxton train station in Hackney.
Officers attended alongside London’s Air Ambulance and London Ambulance Service (LAS).
A 51-year-old had sustained knife injuries at the scene and was taken to an east London hospital.
Police said his condition is serious but not life-threatening.
Hackney Road has since been shut partly between Ravenscroft Street, Cremer Street and Diss Street while police cordons remain in place.
Scotland Yard says officers are “open minded” about the motive behind the attack and an investigation has been launched.
No arrests have been made so far. Enquiries are ongoing.
The Met has urged anyone with information or dashcam footage to call them on 101 or post on X @MetCC quoting 412/3APR.
Anonymous reports can be sent to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
