A man has been arrested after Essex Police seized drugs as part of a county lines drug raid in the capital.

The force said it raided an address with its Operation Raptor Harlow team on Thursday (February 15) and seized suspected cocaine worth an estimated £14,000.

The stock was reportedly split into more than 300 individual street deal sizes.

Samuel Menseh, 26, of Homerton High Street, was arrested later that day in Stratford.

He has since been charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled Class A drug and being concerned in the supply of cocaine, crack cocaine and heroin.

He appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Friday (February 16) and was remanded in custody until further hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court on Friday (March 15).

Inspector Mark Jones, of Essex Police's serious violence unit, said the charges follow “substantial work” by a “dedicated investigative team” into a drug line bringing harmful substances to Harlow.

“We are well equipped in Essex to tackle the harm caused by county lines operations – drug dealers are never safe to operate in this county”, he added.
