A man has pleaded guilty to causing the death of a cyclist mum-of-two by dangerous driving.
Martin Reilly admitted hitting 36-year-old Gao Gao with a car while she was cycling in Whiston Road, Hackney, on September 21.
Gao’s sister, Ella Gao, last week paid tribute to the mum-of-two, saying that she “had so much more to give”.
The 36-year-old died in hospital in the early hours of September 22, a day after the crash.
Martin Reilly, 29, of Caldecott Way, Lower Clapton, will next appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on January 19 for sentencing.
Hackney Cycling Campaign has called for safety improvements to roads in Hackney after three people died while cycling in the borough in recent weeks.
