A 52-year-old man is charged with murder following a fatal stabbing in Hackney on Friday (May 5) that led to a man’s death.
Officers from Met police arrived at the scene on Mare Street after being called at 11:07pm to reports of the man’s stabbing.
Met police has now identified the victim as 27-year-old Sebastian Zon who lived in Hackney. Despite the best efforts of the paramedics from London’s Ambilance and Air Ambulance services, Sebastian did not survive.
Police had arrested three people in connection with the stabbing. Zbigniew Galek, 52, of Mare Street, has been charged with murder and will appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, May 9.

A 53-year-old woman was released on bail to a date at the end of May and a 43-year-old man was released with no further action.
Sebastian’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers, Met police said in a statement.
Investigation is still under way by homicide detectives from specialist crime unit and police have urged anyone with information to dial 101 quoting CAD 8423/05May.
