A man was taken to hospital with a stab wound after a "racially-motivated" incident.
Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at about 2.45pm on Monday (January 16) to reports of a man aged in his 40s with a stab wound in Mare Street, Hackney.
Officers attended the scene and the man was taken to hospital for treatment. His injury is not believed to be life-threatening.
A police spokesperson said: "At this early stage it is believed that the man was assaulted by another man - due to comments reportedly made, the incident is being treated as racially motivated."
There have been no arrests and police enquiries continue.
