A man has died following a blaze on the first floor of a Hackney house.
Firefighters were called to the fire in Dericote Street on Wednesday evening (January 11).
The man was rescued from the first floor by the London Fire Brigade and taken to hospital, where he later died.

Another man, who was saved by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus who climbed stairs inside the property to reach him, was treated at the scene.
The brigade was called at 9.08pm and the blaze was extinguished by 9.56pm.
The fire, which damaged part of the first floor of the terraced house, was attended by 25 responders and four fire engines from Bethnal Green, Homerton and Shoreditch fire stations.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “The first fire engine arrived within four minutes and the second within six minutes.”
The cause of the fire is not yet known, although it is not believed to have been suspicious. An investigation is underway.
