- Around 100 firefighters were scrambled to Dalston Lane at 5.21pm on Wednesday evening and under control by 7.25pm.
- Part of a four-storey block of flats, including the roof, was alight
- The fire produced significant amounts of smoke and people in the area were advised to keep windows and doors closed
- Some residents were relocated to a nearby church and London Fire Brigade were liaising with Hackney Council to help them
- The cause of the fire is being investigated.
